CONCAVE ANGLED SITTING SYSTEM

HOW TO AVOID A COMPRESSION ON THE LOWER, MEDIAN PART OF THE ABDOMEN, PELVIC ARCH / PELVIS

Coccygeal, vertebral bones, pubic bones, perineal area and sex organs

 

People use chairs, or other supports, to sit resting their pelvis and setting their legs free from the trunk weight.

 

1 ) The sitting postures are three;  1)thrunk straight, 2)trunk inclined forward, 3)trunk inclined backwards (Fig.1).

2 ) The trunk postural rotation forward and backwards takes place on the two pelvis ischial bones ( Fig. 2 ). 

3 ) The rotation forward and backwards brings the coccygeal and pubic bones nearer the seat centre (Fig. 3).

THE NEW CONCAVE ANGLED HI-TECH SEAT

 

1) The user’s two pelvis (B) ischial bones (X),(Y) rest on two inclined planes (M),(N); (M) and (N) are the half-lines forming the concave angle (K) which is the support centre on which ones sits. Thus between the perineal area (P) and the concave angle vertex or seat centre (K) a distance (H) is created Fig. 4.

2) By varying the concave angle (K), the inclined planes (M),(N) change in (M1),(N1) including the distance (H) in  (H1) Fig 5,this moving the perineum (P) and the coccygeal (E) and pubic (P) bones, as much as lone likes, away from the seat centre (K1).

 

THE CONCAVE ANGLED SEAT HEALTH TRIANGLE

3)  The space between the ischial bones (X),(Y) and the seat centre (K) is the “seat health triangle” which lifts the user’s pelvis and prevents the seat centre (K) from compressing the perineal area and the coccygeal and pubic Fig. 6. The space among these three points has no support function.

CUSTOM MADE SEATS

1)  The posterior part of the seat (S) is, by low, about two/three centimetres lower than the Fig. 7

2)  To avoid to compress the user’s thighs and slow down his or her blood circulation, the knee (G) is more than the front part of the seat far from the Fig.8.

3)  The concave angled seat and the concave angled back maintain the trunk in the orthostatic Fig.9.
